Out-of-Network Insurance
Like most specialty psychotherapy practices in New York City, I am an out-of-network (OON) provider and do not accept insurance directly.
Many clients with PPO plans (including BCBS, Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, Cigna, and Anthem) receive partial reimbursement for therapy services after meeting their deductible. Reimbursement rates vary by plan and are determined by your insurer’s allowed amount and out-of-network benefits.
Sessions are paid in full at the time of service. Upon request, I provide a detailed monthly superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
This model allows for:
Greater privacy and discretion
Personalized, uninterrupted care
Freedom from insurance-imposed treatment limits
Session Fees
Individual Therapy: $275 / 50 minutes
Couples Therapy: $350 / 60 minutes
A limited number of reduced-fee openings are available ($150–$200 range) as scheduling allows.
How to Check Your Out-of-Network Benefits
Before your first session, I recommend contacting your insurance provider and asking:
Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
Are telehealth sessions covered?
What is my out-of-network deductible, and how much has been met?
What is the reimbursement rate for CPT codes 90834 or 90837?
What percentage will I be reimbursed after my deductible?
Insurance representatives can transfer you to behavioral health for more accurate answers.
Please note: reimbursement estimates are not guarantees of payment.
What Is a Superbill?
A superbill is an itemized receipt that includes:
Provider information (name, NPI, Tax ID, address)
Dates and length of sessions
CPT and diagnosis codes
Fees charged
Place of service (virtual or in-person)
You submit this directly to your insurer for out-of-network reimbursement.
How to Submit for Reimbursement
Each insurance company has its own process. Typically, you may:
Upload through an online portal
Email securely
Mail or fax a claim form with the superbill
Processing time varies but often takes 2–4 weeks. Reimbursement is sent directly to you.
Payment & Cancellation Policy
Payment is due on the day of service. A credit card is securely stored in SimplePractice.
I require 48 hours’ notice for cancellations. Sessions cancelled outside this window are charged the full fee.
A Note About Boutique Care
This is a boutique psychotherapy practice designed for depth, privacy, and clinical excellence. By remaining out-of-network, I am able to provide trauma-informed, integrative therapy—including EMDR and somatic psychotherapy—without insurance limitations or diagnostic constraints.
If you have questions about coverage, reimbursement, or whether this model is a fit for you, I’m happy to discuss during your consultation.
Beginning therapy is a thoughtful decision. Whether you are navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship strain, burnout, or a quiet sense of misalignment, the first step is choosing a space that feels both clinically grounded and emotionally attuned.
I offer integrative, trauma-informed psychotherapy for adults and couples in New York City and throughout New York State via secure telehealth. This is personalized, depth-oriented work designed for individuals who want more than symptom management — they want clarity, regulation, and lasting change.
Getting started
Step One: A Confidential Consultation
We begin with a private consultation to explore:
What is bringing you to therapy
Your goals and priorities
Whether my approach aligns with your needs
Any questions about structure or expectations
Therapeutic fit matters. This initial conversation is intentional and unhurried.
If we decide to move forward, we schedule your first session.
Step Two: Secure Onboarding
Once your first appointment is confirmed, you will receive a secure invitation from SimplePractice, my HIPAA-compliant client portal.
Through this portal, you will:
Complete intake forms and consent documents
Review practice policies
Securely enter payment information
All forms must be completed prior to your first session to ensure we can begin our work without interruption.
Step Three: A Personalized Therapeutic Plan
Our first sessions focus on developing a comprehensive understanding of your emotional history, relational patterns, stress physiology, and current challenges.
From there, treatment is tailored and may integrate:
EMDR therapy
Somatic psychotherapy and nervous system regulation
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Psychodynamic and relational therapy
Structured cognitive approaches when appropriate
This is not formulaic care. Each plan is individualized, precise, and adaptive to your nervous system and goals.
What Therapy Feels Like Here
Clients often describe this work as:
Direct yet compassionate
Structured yet spacious
Grounded, steady, and deeply attuned
We move at a pace that supports regulation and integration. Depth is welcomed, never forced.
